A recent comment on Rec.Art.Comics.Strips made me recall one of the few times I stepped back from a Sally Forth plot and said, "Y'know, I really like that one." (Let's dismiss the fact that I probably said such to my cats.) Anyway, please indulge me as we look back to a a time when Ted was fully-employed and Sally's mom was nowhere in sight:

Wow. Was Sally Forth the first syndicated strip to feature a joke about Kaiser Wilhelm's severed head? How on earth did I miss that? When did these run?
Wow, it's hard to imagine how these guys got laid off...
I love the Kaiser one especially!
I know I'm piling on, but...
"The Kaiser's head?"
I LOVE it!
Even though this is beating a dead horse, I LOVED the Kaiser joke!
I just found this blog through The Comics Curmudgeon and just want to say "thanks". Your writing for Sally Forth is really sharp -- it's one of my must-read strips. And please don't let anyone tell you to tone down the crazy mother! She's absolutely perfect the way she is! Cringe-inducingly realistic.
i don't think my husband has a single florist on his cell phone.
=v= Now I'm really happy to have posted that!
